During World Music Therapy Week, music therapists and supporters are encouraged to engage in activities that increase awareness of and advocacy for music therapy.
Music Therapy in hospice care can be incredibly meaningful for residents and families – music can help reduce feelings of loneliness, connect individuals with their spirituality, provide comfort and reassurance, ease stress, confusion, and the perception of pain, enable relaxation, and regulate breathing.
Did you know? In 2024, our Music Therapist met with over 160 families, and the top three song requests were Bridge Over Troubled Waters by Simon and Garfunkel, King of the Road by Roger Miller, and Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding.
If you have more questions about all the benefits music therapy brings to our holistic care of each individual and family, please reach out to our Music Therapist directly by email.
We are so proud to have such a talented and compassionate Music Therapist supporting this important part of our care – thank you, Meghan! 😊
